Shopify and Influence.io integration

Socktopus loyalty bridge.

A custom connector designed to give customers one shared loyalty-points balance, wherever they shop.

One balance across online and retail.

Will is working on a custom loyalty connector for Socktopus, linking two Shopify stores and their separate Influence.io loyalty accounts: one for the online shop and one for the physical stores.

The aim is a shared points balance that customers can earn and redeem against wherever they shop, with less manual checking and adjustment by staff.

The online loyalty account is the main record. The retail loyalty account reflects it.

A bridge between two loyalty accounts.

Online Shopify store

Online loyalty account

Main record for the shared points balance.

Custom connector

Loyalty bridge

Connects balances, in-store earnings and redemptions.

Retail Shopify store

Retail loyalty account

Reflects the shared balance for physical stores.

Both loyalty accounts use Influence.io. The online account holds the main balance; in-store earnings and redemptions feed into that shared total.

What the connector is designed to do

  • Keep customers’ points balances matched across online and retail.
  • Add points earned from in-store purchases to the main loyalty account.
  • Deduct redeemed points from the shared balance so those points cannot be spent again.
  • Reduce manual balance checks and adjustments by store staff.

Make separate stores work together.

This project focuses on the connection between systems: keeping a clear main record while allowing customers to use their loyalty points across different shopping channels.
